Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using Giftwise ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
2. The Service
Giftwise helps you track gift ideas, occasions, budgets, and the people you shop for. We offer a free tier with usage limits and a paid premium tier that removes those limits, billed through Stripe on the web or Apple in the iOS app.
3. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when signing up. You may delete your account at any time.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the information you enter into Giftwise (people, occasions, gifts, notes, etc.). You grant us a limited license to store and display that content back to you as part of operating the Service. You're responsible for the content you add. By entering personal information about others (such as gift recipients), you confirm you have the right to store it for your own gift planning.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Web Premium subscriptions renew automatically each year at the price shown when you subscribe, and are billed through Stripe until canceled. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from Settings or the Stripe billing portal. If you buy Premium by accident, you can request a refund within 24 hours of the charge by emailing [email protected]. After 24 hours, payments are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change plan limits and prices with notice. If you are already subscribed, your current price stays the same until your next renewal.
Subscriptions purchased in the iOS app are billed and managed by Apple at the price displayed by the App Store. They renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current paid period ends. Manage or cancel them in Apple subscription settings; request Apple purchase refunds through Apple. Deleting your Giftwise account does not cancel an Apple subscription. The Apple Standard End User License Agreement applies to the iOS app.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service. This includes accessing or trying to access another user's data, disrupting the Service, scraping it with automated tools, trying to get around plan limits, harassing others, or using it for unlawful purposes.
7. Shared occasions
If you share an occasion, you are responsible for who you invite and for the content you share with them. Do not share an occasion with someone who should not see it.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that reminders will always be delivered. Reminders depend on email and push delivery, which we do not control.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Giftwise is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including missed reminders, deadlines, or occasions.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
